The reason why English became a common language is it is a language in "Black and White, a "direct language". "Rhetorics" are important, but you must include humor in communication.
Is there a need to change the way you teach the English language asked by NIKKEI reporter and Dr. Takeuchi answered: " the schools have changed a lot compared to my young days. "In my young days there were only very few international schools existed"(I want to add in 1965 there was only one international boy's high school to graduate in Japan, that was St. Joseph College, and he graduated with Summa Cum Laude from SJC). Dr. Takeuchi added " today there are over 100 international schools, though their tuitions may be high, but there are some schools with scholarships to accommodate the needs. They are the schools which can overcome the AI era and can acquire an English command to live through in challenging world." "Hope the Ministry of Education and parents understand the command of English needed in this global age."
