Today is Sunday; Yokohama Union Church
April 27, 2014
Dear Students and Friends
Today is Sunday. We went to Yokohama Union Church.
It is one of the oldest churches in Japan.
It was built by the first missionary, Rev. Hepburn 151 years ago.
He built Union Church and Ferris School. He first built it next to the place signed
the American-Japanese Treaty of Commodore Perry and the Japanese shogunate.
Now it is the site of the oldest protestant church, Kaigan Kyoukai.
He later moved to Tokyo and built Meiji Gakuin.

Today I took courses on Christianity and Teaching methods for children classes.
April 25, 2014
Dear Students and Friends
Today I took courses on Christianity and Teaching children classes methods.
Both were interesting. The first I learned that there are rules and styles in service of Christian churches. I learned that the Seventh Day Adventist observe their holy day on Saturdays instead of Sundays. In teaching classes I learned to use sign languages with songs plus how to teach by using picture books.
I am learning a lot.

Today I went to two Nihon University Colleges.
They are cheerful and studious than their predecessors.
One of the two colleges is located in Suidoubashi and the other is located in Sakura Jousui.
Both are doing far better than years ago graduates.
Good Luck

Ferris Women's University is small but good. It is located in RyokuenToshi in Yokohama.
Their Yamate Campus with high school is known to be the oldest girls' school in Japan. They were founded by the Dutch Reformed Church of America and the spirit of the Reformed Church presides in the running of the school.

Today is Easter, Pictures from the Aoyama Gakuin University Chapel, Episcopalian Methodist Church, April 20, 2014
April 20, 2014
Dear Students and Friends
Today is Easter.
Aoyama Gakuin opened the doors of their old chapel to all. It is very solemn scene.
Let me write from the Bible.
" But Mary stayed outside the tomb weeping. And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb and saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet where the body of Jesus had been. And they saw said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them,"they have taken my Lord, and I don't know where they laid him." "When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there, but did not know it was Jesus." Jesus said to her, " Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?" She thought it was a gardener and said to him, "Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him." Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to him in Hebrew, " Rabbouni," which means Teacher. Jesus said to her, "Stop holding on to me, for I have not ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, " I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God." Mary of Magdala went and announced to the disciples, " I have seen the Lord, " And what he told her.
Bible according to John, 20-11 to 18.
