Dear Students and Friends
Quote to Think:
"However mean your life is, meet it and live it:
do not shun it and call it hard names.
Cultivate poverty like a garden herb, like sage.
Do not trouble yourself much to get new things,
whether clothes or friends. Things do not
change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts.

US naturalist and Writer
1817-1862

13, January, 2014: the Religious Society of Friends(Quakers), Tokyo Meeting, Sundays from 10:30 to 11:30, Silence(unprogramed meeting).
13, January 2014
Dear Friends and Students
the Religious Society of Friends(Quakers) at their meeting place, Mita, Takanawa, Minatoku, Tokyo.
I became one of the 66 members of Quakers in Japan. History goes back to England in Cromwell and Kings Charles I & II with George Fox but it is known better by William Penn, a founder of Pennsylvania and Philadelphia. In Japan the first member of Quakers was Nitobe Inazou, a former 5000 yen bill face and the founder of Tokyo Christian Women's University.
My family said I should spread this good group, so I will.
They are the opposite of evangelical groups, don't spread their believes and like Zen you listen quietly to inner self for salvation. So it is very "Jiriki"( self attainment).
They have fine schools they built around the world, Johns Hopkins, Cornell, Earlham, etc.in the USA In Japan, Friends School, "Furendo Gakuen"near Keio University.

"One of the most essential things you nee to do for yourself is to choose a goal that is important to you. Perfection does not exist---you can always do better and you can always grow."

My new status/goal is a semi-retired educator.
My mission is to come and help the Friends. That is the Call.
To prepare it I will persevere to read and study.

So I won't take it seriously.)looking at the present situation.

"In the world of Uncertainty, we just walk in the dark that the other side is better.
Hope it is better and there is light to guide the dark." gto
Quote to think:
" Whatever you do, you need courage.
Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that
you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising that
tempt you to believe your critics are right. To map out a course of action
follow it to an end requires some of the same courage that a soldier needs.
Peace has its victories, but it takes brave men and women to win them."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
US philosopher, poet and essayist
